Make an OfferJim Beam is an 8-year-old, 15.1-hand sorrel gelding who is very broke, willing, and dependable. He is the kind of horse that makes riding enjoyable whether you’re in the arena, working cattle, or exploring the trails. Under saddle, Jim Beam has a good turnaround, easy neck rein, carries both leads at a lope, and has a nice, deep stop. He will also trot around quietly and gives his rider time to enjoy the ride without being complicated. He has been exposed to a variety of situations and handles new experiences well. He will carry a flag and tarp, cut a flag, and allows his rider to throw a rope off him. He stays thoughtful in new situations and gives his rider confidence. On the trail, Jim Beam crosses water, rides through brush, handles traffic, and is comfortable around dogs. He can ride at the front or back of a group and is also happy to leave the group and ride out alone. On the ground, he is easy to catch, gets along well with other horses, and stands quietly cross-tied. He is good for tacking, bathing, clipping, and the farrier. He is shod on all four because of rocky terrain and stands well for shoeing. He also loads and hauls well. Jim Beam is a versatile, experienced, good-minded gelding who is ready for trail riding, ranch work, cattle work, or an enjoyable arena ride.
